Games-Services and E-SPORTS SERVICES announced today the kick-off of the Electronic Sports World Cup US Qualifiers, which will be played online from April 14th to June 5th, 2008. The winners of the qualifying tournaments will represent the USA at the 6th edition of the ESWC Grand Final 2008 taking place in the Official Host City of San Jose, California from August 25th to 27th.
The Grand Final will gather 800 champions from over 50 countries with the support of NVIDIA, the Main and Worldwide Partner. Tournament spots are limited and registration begins March 24th for all game disciplines. Matches will be played starting April 7th. More than 1,200 top-level video game players will battle during two months on secured servers for a chance to win a spot on Team USA.
The following official ESWC game disciplines will be represented:
* Counter-Strike 1.6
* Counter-Strike 1.6 Women
* Defense of the Ancient (DoTA)
* Warcraft III TFT
* Trackmania Nations ESWC
* Quake III Arena
Qualifying teams and players will receive a travel allowance to participate at the ESWC Grand Final from August 24-27. The City of San Jose, an Official Partner of the global operations, will provide four days of accommodations for the US and International champions at the best downtown hotels.

E-SPORTS SERVICES has been engaged to provide the tournament and technology services to the CGS for the Championship Gaming Series Combine & Draft 2008. The CGS unique combine format allows the top gamers in United States and Canada to showcase their game skills in competitive tournaments and spotlighted challenge matches requested by General Managers of the North American CGS team franchises. The combine will be followed by a draft event where the General Managers will select professional gamers for their team franchises to compete in the 2008 CGS season.
We are providing our Event Management System along with our team of professional administrators and custom event technologies to provide the highest level of quality control and tournament management for this event. We will be running the CGS tournaments and challenge matches for Counter-Strike: Source (PC), FIFA 08 (PC), Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360), and Forza Motorsport 2 (Xbox360). This weekend event is entirely FREE and will be held on January 12 & 13 at the Price Center on the UCSD main campus.
In addition to hosting mini-tournaments and contests, SteelSeries will be selling a large inventory of their premium gaming gear, including their new Siberia Neckband headsets, SP gaming surfaces and Ikari Optical mice! SteelSeries is a Gold sponsor at the event and will sponsor the Counter-Strike tournament with product prizes for the winners.
